I run VPS nodes in Amsterdam, Netherlands (ams1) and Frankfurt, Germany (ffm1), with DNS managed through Cloudflare, plus Cloudflare Pages for static deployments. If you have a specific latency or jurisdiction need, get in touch. I’m open to spinning up a node elsewhere on request for the right project.

Personal hosting is free, as it’s always been. I also offer a paid tier with dedicated resources and support/uptime guarantees. See Pricing for details.

FAQ

Q: Is this free?

A: Free hosting is still available, as long as you ask nicely and don’t abuse resources. If you need dedicated resources or guaranteed support response times, check out the paid tier.

Q: What’s the catch?

A: None. Free-tier sites stay up as long as I’m physically able to keep them up. You’ll need to follow the ToS.

Q: How do I sign up?

A: Email me at emma@knijn.one, or reach out through any of the contact methods on knijn.one, and we’ll figure out what works.

Q: Do you help migrate existing sites?

A: Yes, free of charge, regardless of tier.

Q: What technologies do you use?

A: Cloudflare Pages for static deployments (like this site), and VPS nodes in Amsterdam and Frankfurt for everything else. DNS is managed through Cloudflare, though not every service is proxied through it.

Kairos Deprecation

Kairos is the old system powering the GoTrain instance hosted at https://kairos.knijn.one/gotrain. This is being deprecated due to age, and in order to provide a better experience. It was based on an old project for school that I am no longer maintaining. The old instance will stay up as long as possible, but no realistic effort will be made to keep it up if it goes down.

I would like to inform users of knijn.space of some changes to our Terms of Service. They do not affect any of your rights and only serve to keep it up to date.

The following updates have been made:

  1. Switch the hosting provider to Vultr
  2. New styling
  3. Minor spelling and grammar fixes.
